Half Marathon

This story all begins with a girl named Kelsie.  She is really cute and fun and I want to be just like her.  One day she asked me to run with her.  Told her I hated it.  But somehow she convinced me to sign up for a half marathon.  At this time I had never run more than a mile in my life and those high school gym days stunk!  But like I said I signed up.  Trained for 8 weeks with some fun fun girls and did it!  I can't believe it!  What a blessing I was able to finish!  I did it in 2:30!
Kels and I were the pink ladies!

The only disappointing thing.. the tiny medals.

5k

I always tease Ky because he doesn't run with me... but this last eekend he did!  He ran our stake 5k.  Laura ran with me.  This is Ky leaving us in the dust. Here is Laur.. .she  did great. but i am not going to lie... I gave her a piggy back for a t least a mile of the race. (don't worry it was spaced out)

Ky ran so fast he won 3rd place in his division and got a pedometer!
here are the victors!

Homecoming

Both twins were asked to homecoming.  Don't worry I know their dresses are not modest.  But lets be honest  their isn't much you can do.
Mom and Em were over at Amy's friends house helping her get ready while I got Joni off.  Her date Caleb smelled so good.  I know because I helped pin his flower on him.
This is Joni ready to get off of Hidden Cove Drive, and away from embarrassing family

Amy wanted me to fix her hair and when I got their Emily and cousin Sarah were doing a great job!

she ended up looking like a super model...
Here is mom Em, Baby Avery and I

Football

Ky LOVES football, and the (BYU) season just started so I guess that I am going to be a football fan too!  I was looking for a fun quote for our picture and ran across these that I am (haha) still (haha) laughing (haha) about (haaaa):

  • Most football players are temperamental.  That's 90 percent temper and 10 percent mental.  ~Doug Plank

  • You have to play this game like somebody just hit your mother with a two-by-four.  ~Dan Birdwell (love your mamma jokes)

  • If you're mad at your kid, you can either raise him to be a nose tackle or send him out to play on the freeway.  It's about the same.  ~Bob Golic
  • Baseball players are smarter than football players.  How often do you see a baseball team penalized for too many men on the field?  ~Jim Bouton
  • One of the great disappointments of a football game is that the cheerleaders never seem to get injured.  ~Author Unknown

Love it!

Speaking of football, Ky and I were able to go to the Murray High Homecoming game on Friday night!

Kyle and my Dad were the only people in the fam who really knew what was going on, but lets be honest I was taking pictures of Amy the Cheerleader
She rocks!
Then there is the drill team, Joni the dance mistress rulled the field:

I just have to brag about Murray High.  For homecoming king and queen they voted in a handicapped girl and boy.  They were the best looking royalty I have ever seen.  The Des News did an article on it... and it brought tears to my eyes.  These kids have made a bigger difference than they know!
