M is for Mark... and Married

Thursday May 7th 2009

Here is how our crazy day went

8a-
alarm goes off
8:15a- Ky and Doll get out of bed... Doll gets in the bath (the shower bugs)
8:30a- Ky eats breakfast while watching sports doll turns on the blow dryer
9a-Doll eats breakfast... Ky gets dressed
9:15a- Doll uses the blow dryer yet again... curls her hair and attempts makeup and dressing herself... Ky is picking up the front room
9:30a- We run out the door heading down town
9:38a- We get down town and underneath the conference center
9:39-10:10a We are driving around looking for a parking spot. every single level was full!
10:12a- we get above ground... drive behind the conference center... Doll kicks off her hills and we run to the temple
10:19a- We are sitting in the temple for the 10:20 sealing!
Amazingly we made it.

After the marriage we went on a tour of the Conference center and may I say that is a blessed building. I definatly felt the spirit many times.

Only problem... we had a hard time finding the luncheon... because we thought we were on 500 North... when really we were on 500 south. Woops!

Reception was a little cold... but it was fun to see some friends!

This is our cute niece Jane... Kyle and I just can't get enough of her... and when we do, we get strict instructions to not excite her too much (by throwing, turning upside down, etc...)

Kyle looks hot in this picture... and his grandparents are adorable...

Brazilian Fun

Kyle and I had the funnest date night.

It was really just going out to dinner… but with two goofs like us it was hilarious.

We had a $50 gift certificate to the Braza Grill (Kind of like Tucanos or Rodizio) and it expired on Tuesday. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to use it until Tuesday.
Well I get off work at 8 usually. I left at 7:45 and the plan was to meet Kyle at the restaurant that closes at 9p.

On my way there… Kyle calls… he locked his keys inside of the house and himself out. Oddly enough I took a different freeway than usual and I was on the opposite side of town. No way would I make it clear up to the U and down to the restaurant in time. I told him to call the police.

The U of U police came and let him in… I sat in the restaurant alone for about a half hour but we made it! We were both so silly the entire night. Kyle made his food into faces… and kept explaining to me what kind of veins and fat and other tissues the meat were… while I teased him for being a baby and not trying the alligator or wild boar.

Great date! Great night!1

By the way the alligator was awful… bacon wrapped chicken wonderful!!

Gotta love this face!!

I DARE you to

Just wanted to let everybody know that Stinky graduated from the DARE program. And that she was the only one chosen from her 5th grade class to read her essay infront of the entire 5th grade. YEAH!

Watch out Comayahuela!!

Coma??? What??

That's the place my little Brother is heading and Kyle couldn't be more excited.
Kyle: Yes I could. But he did get pretty close to the best country outside the States.

Amanda: Whatever... Well our little Daniel is going to be a missionary in Honduras .
Because the camera was running out of tape and the right people were not on the phone he had to wait like 5 minutes after opening it to read.

Kyle: He really isn't that little...nor is he MY Daniel. I'll leave that claim to someone else.

Amanda: Alright... picky picky and he IS your brother-in-law and brother in the gospel. Really.
Well check out these pics: (notice Kyle hovering!!)

Promised Pics

I promised I would post these "Oh so fun pictures" Enjoy!
Don' tyou love Rachel's hat?
This is the killer and his cute wife.

Us all smooshed in our little apt!

Pancakes and Witches

Some other funny pictures that have a great story.

I made Kyle go get pancakes with me at IHOP on free pancake day. They stopped serving at 10… we got there at 9… plenty of time. I guess that’s what everyone else thought too.

I’m not going to lie. There were definitely some wierdos there but we had a good time. And I got my fave syrup.
I swear there pancakes are better too.

The story really wasn't that great. Oh well.

And this… I just can’t explain. I took a pic of us after church… some would call it camera-happy. The only problem. I’m scrunching my nose. Makes it look long, and witch like. Note to self—never do that again.

Hot Hot Tubbin

This last Saturday was my last one working the morning shift... meaning I got the night off.

Ky and I decided to celebrate (not the fact that I would be working nights... but the fact that I had a break) .

We used our handy dandy Happenings book... and went to Costa Vida. The only problem--UVU's volleyball beat us to the punch.

The line was huge when we got there but we had to stay... COUPON... and after us, the line was like 2 people.

After games with our fun friends... we tested their new hot tub.

We were so relaxed we didn't think we would make it home.

We might need one of those someday.

Spring Break

Even though we both had to work… most of the week… we decided to do something fun. On Wednesday we headed up to Tremonton for a Sunday worthy dinner with his family.

Kyle’s brother Mark just got engaged and too bad they have everything planned… because really I love weddings and have some great ideas!

Thursday we were planning on going over to Logan… and rock climb… but instead we spent the day with Cute Eden, Adam and Zaida. After my first tour of Smith and Edwards, we took the long way to Park City.

But I love car rides with Kyle. I wish I could bottle them up. We get into deep conversations and truly connect.

Park City didn’t have any deals… I was bummed but we got some great exercise!

Sour Grapes of Wrath

WE invited our friends Jeremy and Kristie and Rachel and Brock over for a Murder Mystery. Our table is tiny so we used our desk… It was BYOC Bring-your-own-chair!

Kyle was the immigrant farm hand who got around… and I was the next door neighbor—a Psychologist gone writer,

Neither of us were the killer… although Enrique (ky) did kill someone.

We had a blast and hope to spend more time with our new friends.

Aren’t their costumes great!

Grabby hands

Almost every Thursday I get to watch my little niece. She is so cute... but so spoiled. And every week no fail... she goes through my purse.

Inside my purse she found my camera.

Check out this video of her trying to get it back

As a side note. I had to post the pic of ky and I on V day. Pink dress.

Lust for Blood!

No joke. When Ky and I were working out the other day... I thought that his veins would burst they were so huge.
Immediately he said "I wish we had a camera so that we could blog about it"! Love him.
We any who when I got home from work last night his veins were huge! And all he was doing was catching the last 10 minutes of the Jazz game.

Check these out.

I told him to watch out for vampires

Its Family Time

That's right! Kyle's cute brother... his wife and baby came to visit us in our iddy-bitty apartment and may i say they are very gracious guests.

Zadia, our little niece has Kyle wrapped around her little finger... he spent the night making her laugh and blubble... but really I am waiting for him to get baby hungry! Bet he's first.

After breakfast and games our fun family had to leave.

But really it was so good just to talk and see you! Loves

V-day... the confused way

So girls talking to eachother... can cause confusion.

My cute new friend Lauren and I were chatting at the gym about the Valentines day dinner our stake was throwing.

(Now to our benefit the HUGE sign outside of the chuch says dinner and dance) We talked about how we were going to dress up and how excited we were to dance.

Next thing I know my mind goes nuts... I imagine low lights... balloon arches... slow music and me and my man.

Friday morning I woke at 4 to go to work... get home... grab some lunch with ky and fall asleep. I ask ky what time it is... 5 minutes to 6. The dance started at 6.... A girl can't get ready that fast... but she can do 10 minutes... with a miracle (and have you ever heard of fashionably late!)

6:05 i have ky run out to the car to grab my dress.
6:06 he comes in and says i quote " I don't mean to be rude of anything... but everyone i saw walking to the church was wearing jeans"
6:06.25 me: "I don't care I want to look pretty... you shouldn't have told me... and will you dress nice too so i don't look like an idiot?"
6:06.50- I iron my pretty pink bridesmaid dress (thanks becca)
6:09 We are walking up to the church and people are walking in wearing jeans and with their little kids ( I thought this was adults only!)
6:09.34 Kyle asks " are you sure you don't want to go back and change?" me: " no way"
6:09.59- I see Lauren... She is the only other one wearing a dress... at least we are so cute together.

We then ate some yummy dinner and thought... where is the dance... lets get this started. Everyone else at our table says " what dance? There is none... just karoke"

So I say "Lets ditch this joint... haunted house anyone?"

Our cute couple friends Peter and Lauren went with us to the haunted house (friday the 13th baby)... and treated us to some but kicking games and yummy yummy food. Thanks guys!

Basketball from the mouths of Babes

So I decided to be a good dutiful wife and cheer for Kyle at his basketball game on Saturday-- only I didn't know that I would be joined by three hillarious youngsters.

It all started off when I said Hi. The next thing I know a three year old with pink butterflies on her jeans is sitting next to me talking non stop.

When one of the players on our team fell into some chairs... I covered my eyes and she said "Is that your dad?"

Next another little girls runs up to me and says "there is poop ov' there."

"No there isn't"

"We'll can't we pretend?"

CUTE Kids

PS Kyle won his game and got so sweaty that i made him hang dry his socks.. ek

Her name was Haley Hughes
She never had the blues

Always having lots of fun
But not getting too much sun

She was a great cook
and was a babe, Look

But there was one thing she did
that made her friend upsid.

She blocked her from her blog.
It was like she didn't want her to see the daily log.

Amanda wants to be added
her email is voscanche@gmail.
this would be really swell.

Then we could be friends
even on the weekends

I need to hear your life story
it sounds like exotic glory.

Is this considered "Car Trouble"

The other day.... Kyle and I had the greatest idea-- workingout.

Well unfortunately we were out of eggs... and we have to eat eggs after we work out. It just works that way.

He agreed to run to the store with me (although he HATES shopping and is not very good at it)

We drove down to Albies... I hurried really fast ( even though that is hard for me... I NEED to get the best deals possible).

When we came out as I was admiring my thriftiness on my receipt, Kyle said "Oh no I left the lights on!"

I told him it would be fine... so I sat in the front seat... put a blanket on my lap and waited for the car to miraculously start. didn't. So cute kyle pops the hood right as a man pulls up and asks if we need a jump. 15 minutes later... and about 12 jumps... nothing. So we hitchhike.

At home we get Kyles car... drive back to the store to retrieve our bargains... and decide to try the car one last time. Turns out the car lurched a little this time... Kyle looks down and the whole entire time... it was in Drive!

We laughed about this all day.. and are so glad we dont' have to fork out hundreds for some part that cars probably don't even really need but that mechanics say they do.

So Lucky!

Here is ky, the car and the groceries:

We didn't end up working out... but really this was traumatic.

Pizza

Kyle says when I get an idea... I run with it.

The other day I wanted Pizza. Looked up a recipe. And made it. Three days in a row.

And if I may say so myself-- I make pretty good pizza dough.

Well on Sunday... We were running late... not my fault--- really.

While kyle was still getting ready I made more dough.

Rinsed off my hands and went to church.

Turns out I touched my arm before I put on my coat... Crumby dough all over me. I looked like I had serious dandruff... on my arm!

The food was really good... just hope there are some left overs for me tonight.

Carpet

They say the simple things in life make people happy.

I believe it... because today my parents gave us some of their old carpet... and we were thrilled.

Kyle got out the razor knife and we moved the furniture... now we have a HUGE rug!

The best part is... the old gym-like floor is covered... at least in the living room.

Crusin the Carribean

Imagine...
Seven days of:
- Someone else making your bed... three times a day... and leaving a chocolate on your pillow at night
- Hot Delicious food... all of the time... and as much as you want
- Taking a hot shower and leaving the towels on the floor... and you get new clean ones hung up for you
- Fun, Fun all day long with a lot of activities.
- Stopping in beautiful paradises to swim and snorkel
ETC ETC

We were really lucky to get to go with some of our best friends Tyler and Allison pictured here:

and yes they did win the chess and basketball couples contest... Kyle just can't win with me as his partner.

The Carribean is a place for lovers, which is great because we are in love:

__________________________________________________________
Now we promised our newset friends that we would write a little blurb about them.

Aaron and Jen. Cutest Church of Christ members we have ever met and great vacationing friends.

We actually met them by chance... Tyler and Allison did excursions every port day... and kyle and i wanted to save some dough so we decided to venture out on our own.... thats how me met Aaron and Jen.

We were all standing on the sidewalk, on the beautiful Island of Rotan... we all needed cabs and we asked them to share one with us.

Turns out we became quick friends... and couldn't get enough of them.

Aaron is a pro-swimmer and he took ky and I snorkeling. I was so excited to see so many fish I was screaming the whole time.

And Jen is possibly the cutest girl... and looks like a 17 year old (Aaron must robbed the cradle).

We actually all did this really fun Murder Mystery dinner together... I thought Jen was the killer... she just played her part so well... But really Kyle was the man responsible!

We wished we could have spent more time with them, but hope to see them soon.

Hey if anyone wants to vacation in Florida let us know... Aaron and Jen have a house down there that they rent.. beautiful!

Kyle played a few basketball games... on the ship. He rocked.

We had some some seriously fun times at night. They had some really cute shows... and even jugglers that were awesome!

Notice the red eye... I had it for like 2 days.

Fun on the BEACH:

If anyone wants to vacation... take us we are really fun!

Baby time

Nope... not us. But sometimes I feel like everyone else is having or has had a baby.

For example our ward. We are like 1 of 5 un-kids couples. There is a sign-up in our Relief Society Roll book for who is Prego.

Some old friends from high school don't ask "How are you" when you call. They ask "Are you pregnant yet?"

I'm so so happy for all of our friends that are expecting... I love babies and will help watch yours... But hope that you aren't expecting any little Amanda's or Kyle's anytime soon--- because we just aren't ready right now.

Christmas party

Ky and I woke up on Saturday morning and headed over to my parents ward christmas party. Its always fun seeing people that I grew up around. This is my niece that I watch on Thursdays. She is so fun.

Last year Kyle and I got our picture with Santa. We'll have to get another this year

Shaving

Kyle has always used an electric razor (sucks), and someone gave us this really cool Gillette Fusion and he tired it and LOVED it.

This is a picture of him messing up my mirror.

(I also love the new razor and smooth shave;)

Governors Mansion

Last night Kyle and I got to go to a party at the Governors Mansion! I've been talking about it for weeks... imagining what it would be like.

I got off work half hour early so that we could get to the party on time. Now get this. You had to turn over your inivte when you went, and there were little old lady security guards everywhere! Kyle also pointed out to me that there were keypad entrys to most every room, including what we thought were the bedrooms.

At first we went thought what I swear was a wedding line where the Gov, First lady and Attorney General all thanked us for coming and shook our hands... not only that, a professional photographer took our picture with them and handed us a card of where to get it off line (sound like Disney land?)

They had some amazing food... and awful singer. But we had a great time.

We actually got to talk to my Friend Denver's Dad (who is also a mayor) Kyle loved him and he love kyle. They were laughing the entire time. Wow.

Hope we get invited next year!

Also this stockerish sort of girl kept staring at Kyle... and sort of followed us everywhere we went. But hey at least she takes good pictures of us!

Twilight on the brain

I loved the movie... and even tried to eat Kyle during it... and am now reading the second book. I did give the first book another chance and it was great! Reading is wonderful!

Oh... half way through the movie... the picture went out and little girls and grown women were all screaming! Kyle and I were scared of them.

Some of my Cutest Friends

I LOVE friends! I honestly think that we were sent down here to learn to love and to gain relationships.

This is Elba, Warrior and Baby Tess. A couple of weeks ago we had a girls lunch and a great time.

I don't wanna grow up...

So me and my cute friend barb were talking today... about being "Grown-ups". Some days I feel old... other days young... but either way I don't like being a grown up. Who knew you would have such a boring life?
I absolutely adore my husband, but we hardly ever get to see eachother. I work evenings he goes to school in the mornings and works afternoons. I do have to say that I am grateful that we get lunches together most of the time.

Remember what it was like being a care free kid. Your biggest worry is that your little brother will discover your clubs fort?

Being in your 20's isn't all bad... We're young enough to have fun... and old enough to make big decisions!

Wine

So the other day, I decided to do something fun. I went out and bought some Wine colored paint and went nuts!

I never knew how hard painting was... until I tried.I used a whole gallon on one wall ( and got a lot of splotches on the ceiling:) Kyle helped me do the second coat...

Chirstmas is coming

Ky and I are so excited for Christmas. We spent Thanksgiving with his family... and when we got home today, we put on the holiday music and sang all day. It was just fun to be together and feel a little Christmas Cheer!

Now we decided that we aren't getting anything for eachother... because we are going on vacation in January. We are going with some of our best friends Allison and Tyler. They are so fun. And really soon we will be here:

Saturday is a Special Day... it's the day we look for Stockings

On Saturday, one of the only half days that Ky and I get to spend together, I made Kyle go with me to one of those tent sales.

There were two huge bins full of Embroidered Christmas Stockings. We searched for like half an hour... and found names like Kizzy, Melvion, Sweet Sara Lou and Mikaetua.... and everyone else in our families but me. Really, come on now. Amanda is a common name. I remember in like the second grade where I was Amanda #3, or Amanda W.

We kept hoping beyond hope that everytime we said this is the last dig... we would find it. But no such luck. If you see any let me know!

Twlight

Kyle and I have always liked scary movies (don't tell him this one is more of a love story) but I have him convinced that we are going to see Twilight.

My little sisters are really into the books... so I borrowed the first one a couple of months ago. Hated it. Only made it like half way through. But after seeing the movie trailer I want to give it another try!

Kyle and I tried to get free tickets on Saturday that they were giving away at a furniure store. Too bad like 100 people slept outside in the cold to wait for them. But we did get a poster and braceletts for the girls.

I'll let you know how the show is!

(but I do have to say I think the actor was way cuter in Harry Potter)

Tableless...

So this is supposed to be Ky and Me in our new apartment... but looks like I didn't make it:(.

We don't have a kitchen table or any chairs so we are eating on the couch and using an end table for right now! Moving is hard. I hope that we can find a place for everything!
