Our Vacay

I'll try not to make this too long.

MONDAY-
We got these great passes to tour the SLC for really cheap.

First we went down to the Gateway and visited the Planetarium and saw 2 cool shows there... and then we went to the discovery gateway (a really neat place but we don't have any kids)

Here is the video we made:

but anyone with young ones has to go there

The we went to lunch at the Lion house (comes with the passes).
Most amazing food ever.

TUESDAY-
We went to the Zoo.

This is the Place

The Living Planet Aquarium

Thanksgiving Point

Dino Museum

and the Gardens

(Don't ever go there on 2 dollar Tuesdays. You will get run over by small children and women with strollers.

WEDNESDAY:
My little brother was going through the temple this day... so we didn't do too much. But this is the day my car almost got stolen!

THURSDAY:

Seven Peaks baby!
This was our fave slide.

But man do they get you coming and going $$ glad we had a coupon!

FRIDAY:
We doddled around during the morning. But in the afternoon and long into the night my
little sister and I cooked and made a huge mess. I wanted to try this once a month cooking thing. Where you make a ton of freezer meals.

We had been cutting and mixing and stirring forever...when I put the first meal in a ziplock and told her to zip it and put it in the freezer. She set it on the hot stove... lifted up and the red sauce went everywhere. I started laughing... and then crying.

Turns out we make almost 20 meals. I think I might try doing it again!
Oh yeah. and Kyle worked all day on my little brothers mission video. It turned out great!

SATURDAY:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!
Dudes farewell was on Sunday so we tried to help as much as we could. We shopped, cut up fruit... gave my mom a makeover... set up a zillion chairs and such.

Kyle fixed my car so it passed the safety test!
And we went to to dinner at the Texas Roadhouse. It was fun but the ribs weren't that great. But the cute servers danced for us!
I thought it would be funny to take this picture:

SUNDAY-
Devoted to Daniel.

It was nice to spend time with the fam but cleaning up was a long process.

Oh yeah. I have to show you the cute announcement I made for him.

Until next vacation!
Cheers!

Wanted: Dead or Alive

Wanted:
The crazy people who attempted to steal my car.

Yes it is worth only a couple grand... but I guess they just don't make the Honda Civics like they used to. The Police say people steal cars like mine for parts.

I sent Kyle out with a load of junk we were taking over to my mothers house.... and when I come out he yells "Someone tried to steal your car"

No way... That thing gives me all sorts of trouble.

But surely enough there are wires exposed, the bottom half of my steering wheel is ripped out... and all the contents of my jockey box and coin holder... all over.

We are so glad they didn't get away with it... but we just can't figure out how they didn't. What a blessing because we just couldn't buy another car right now. Maybe a bike, but not a car.

She thinks my tractors sexy!

That's right! Kyle and I were able to go see Kenny Chesney this week with our fun friends the Baileys! We had such a blast. Although it was burning HOT!!

Now whats not hot is this nasty cowboy dude that was there. His pants kept falling off. He thought that the ladies loved him... but eww.

I never realized all of the great songs that Kenny sings. He is going to be bigger than George Straight.

Come to the temple

Kyle and I have always held the temple close to our hearts. We Love it! We had the oppertunity to go to the Oqurrih Mountain Temple Open house with the Harrisons. What a beautful spiritual experience.

Check out the picture of The Harrisons. It looks like Baby Tessies hair is Ryan’s mustache!

If you haven’t gone yet do.

4th

I work... all of the time. Nights, weekends, holidays. You know where to find me.
Kyle on the otherhand works and goes to school, but still gets to have some fun.

For the 4th he went to my familys Patriotic Party.
All of the little kids love him so much, that they ganged up on him with those poppers.
Check out his shirt.
And as for the top picture, my twin sisters think Kyle is possibly the coolest person ever!

Swim Party

This is us after the wet Bridal Shower.
Cute Aunt Carol rented the country club pool. And the best thing... we got to order any food we wanted. Chicken fingers and fries... mmm.
The water was great. Grandma even jumped in fully clothed.

The girls on our way there.
Wonder whatever happened to my glasses?

Friends

Kyle and I are so lucky to have some of the best friends in the world .
Right now we live in a small, stinky (foreign foods don't always mix) apartment but we have some of the most fun neighbors and ward members.

This is Kristie and Jessica cooking for us.

Oh beautiful, for spacious skies

I am proud to be an American.
Today at a silly little parade in Murray I couldn't help but think of how much I love this land of the free and home of the brave.

The Suite life

First we played church ball. Church softball.
But I don't find anything soft about that ball.

Then:

Kyle and I were invited by our cute friends the Scritchfields to at Bees game in style.

We sat high above everyone on a suite. Kyle thought it was amazing. I have never had such a big hotdog. And don't worry it was Thirsty Thrusday night so beers were one $1 and freely flowing. I wanted a water. But wouldn't pay $3.75. Don't worry our sweet suite provided.

Looks like we owe the Scritchfields a fancy fun night out!.

(Can you say mother of his future children!!)

So I got him something.

A big something.

A beautiful Fossil watch.

And not only that.

For the first time in our marriage

I kept a secret from him.

(don't tell him about all the other stuff I buy! but really if its under $20 it doesn't count!)
Hope he gets me something for Memorial day... We really have made some great memories together!

Messy house

I had it generally clean today... until I decided to start a project. And all projects have to be big and messy. I mean that is what pro-je-ct means right?

Before work for 2 hours all i did was this
But don't worry I'll post a finished pic. You all will be amazed!

You know... it's RENO

I would like to say that I am usually better at blogging... but oh well.
Kyle and I were able to go to the national Lamb Show in Reno at the end of May and we had a great time. Above is a picture of the sale... can you believe they show livestock in a casino? Let alone on a stage?

Yeah I think it's crazy too.

Here is Kyle in the arcade. We didn't gamble but we did hit up the arcade. Lord of the Rings pinball... lets say it rocked.
The high point of our trip would have to be our day in Virginia city. What a cute little town with a ton of stores... unfortunately we were all a little tired.
Don't worry we did have a celebrity citing. This here train has been in several movies.
Kyle didn't get to show much... although we would have liked to-- but here he is waiting in line with a big bo.

Thanks Ma and Pa Summers we had a great time!

Twisted words= a Compliment??

There I was sitting at my desk at work when one of my photographers came to check in with me… when talking about a scary story I did the surprised face.

Then he said “Amanda, you have really big eyes”.
“Oh, really? I never have thought that,” said Amanda
“But they go with your big body and big head” said Photographer

SHOCK!!

“Wait, wait… I ment that you are a larger that normal woman so your eyes look good on you. You see my wife is really small… oh well” said Photographer.

I surprisingly enough wasn’t at all offended. I just laughed and had to tell everyone I know. Amazing how some boys really don’t know how to talk to women at all!.

Also funny:

Earlier today the one of the little boys I babysit said “why is your hair like that?”
It was in a half pony tail.

“To keep it out of my face” said Amanda
“It looks funny” Little boy.

Race for the Cure

Thats right... i did run in the race for the cure.

Imagine 18 thousand other people running with you.

I was more toward the front of the group when we began... then we came to a hill and i walked up it (I know pansy) and i saw about a thousand people run past me.

But don't worry down hill was very motivating.

While I was running, I was tearing up. There were so many people who were running in memory of a mother, sister or best friend and I just can't handle sadness. I tried not to look at the little kids.

Kyle was cute and came down. i left him at the starting line. It took him longer to find the finish line... than for me to run 3.2 miles! But in his defense... he did see Kyle Korver and was probably really excited.

M is for Mark... and Married

Thursday May 7th 2009

Here is how our crazy day went

8a-
alarm goes off
8:15a- Ky and Doll get out of bed... Doll gets in the bath (the shower bugs)
8:30a- Ky eats breakfast while watching sports doll turns on the blow dryer
9a-Doll eats breakfast... Ky gets dressed
9:15a- Doll uses the blow dryer yet again... curls her hair and attempts makeup and dressing herself... Ky is picking up the front room
9:30a- We run out the door heading down town
9:38a- We get down town and underneath the conference center
9:39-10:10a We are driving around looking for a parking spot. every single level was full!
10:12a- we get above ground... drive behind the conference center... Doll kicks off her hills and we run to the temple
10:19a- We are sitting in the temple for the 10:20 sealing!
Amazingly we made it.

After the marriage we went on a tour of the Conference center and may I say that is a blessed building. I definatly felt the spirit many times.

Only problem... we had a hard time finding the luncheon... because we thought we were on 500 North... when really we were on 500 south. Woops!

Reception was a little cold... but it was fun to see some friends!

This is our cute niece Jane... Kyle and I just can't get enough of her... and when we do, we get strict instructions to not excite her too much (by throwing, turning upside down, etc...)

Kyle looks hot in this picture... and his grandparents are adorable...

Brazilian Fun

Kyle and I had the funnest date night.

It was really just going out to dinner… but with two goofs like us it was hilarious.

We had a $50 gift certificate to the Braza Grill (Kind of like Tucanos or Rodizio) and it expired on Tuesday. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to use it until Tuesday.
Well I get off work at 8 usually. I left at 7:45 and the plan was to meet Kyle at the restaurant that closes at 9p.

On my way there… Kyle calls… he locked his keys inside of the house and himself out. Oddly enough I took a different freeway than usual and I was on the opposite side of town. No way would I make it clear up to the U and down to the restaurant in time. I told him to call the police.

The U of U police came and let him in… I sat in the restaurant alone for about a half hour but we made it! We were both so silly the entire night. Kyle made his food into faces… and kept explaining to me what kind of veins and fat and other tissues the meat were… while I teased him for being a baby and not trying the alligator or wild boar.

Great date! Great night!1

By the way the alligator was awful… bacon wrapped chicken wonderful!!

Gotta love this face!!
